Gefen Gears Worldclass Recording Facility in NYC

NEW YORK, NY - When J. Ralph, owner of The Rumor Mill, needed to extend editing equipment throughout his cavernous studio located in New York City's lower east side, he turned to Gefen.

Built in the 1800s, the one-time silent movie theater was abandoned until J. Ralph and Co. took it over. While location and ambience were perfect, the sprawling size presented a problem.

Ralph needed to span more than 30 feet to operate the studio's computer equipment, safely tucked away in the control room rack, from the HD workstation in the mixing suite.

Using the Gefen Dual Link DVI Booster, he was able to access the computers remotely through a 30-inch Apple Cinema Display while maintaining resolutions of 2560x1600.

The space-saving Booster can extend HD data up to 100 feet using an off-the-shelf DVI-DL cable, surpassing the 15-foot DVI distance specification, and providing total silence in the mixing suite.

"The Gefen Dual Link DVI Booster is a critical piece of behind-the-scenes equipment that performs a valuable role at The Rumor Mill," said Ralph, who just finished the score and music supervision for the upcoming film
